- 5 July 2023 marks 75 years of the National Health Service
- Launch of new book NHS 75: Celebrating 75 Years of the National Health Service marks health service milestone
- KareInn, the only digital care planning provider to be featured within the book
Founded in 1948, the NHS was the first universal health system to be available to all, free at the point of delivery. It now treats over a million people a day in England.
As part of the 75th anniversary celebrations, The History of Parliament Trust is unveiling a new publication called NHS 75: Celebrating 75 Years of the National Health Service, at Westminster Abbey on 6th September 2023.
KareInn is proud to be the only digital care planning provider to be featured in this beautifully presented hardback book, which explores the origins, history and impact of the NHS and highlights the people, companies and policies that have shaped it.
In the publication, KareInn’s Co-Founder John Lanyon, shares his personal experience as a full-time carer for his mother, who had early-onset Alzheimer’s, and for his grandmother, who had vascular dementia, and how this led him to create a technology solution that would make caring more personalised to the individual.
Having spent 15 years volunteering with the Alzheimer’s Society, notably as part of its Research Network, John realised how difficult it was for research data to get translated into real-world use. So, he set about building a team to achieve these goals. The result was KareInn.
KareInn Co-Founder, John Laynon said: “It makes me incredibly proud to see KareInn featured alongside the fantastic people and partners who have helped make the National Health Service what it is today.
“As we mark 75 years of the NHS, and we look back on all it has achieved, we must also continue to move towards utilising data for better care outcomes, and work to become a truly integrated health and social care sector. We have so many opportunities to help shape the next 75 years through the intelligent use of this data.”
Richard Freed, founder of St James’s House, said: “We’re delighted to be launching this fantastic book heralding all that is great about the National Health Service. The 75th anniversary offers the perfect opportunity to reflect on the past, present and future of the NHS.”
