Background
The group has 12 care homes and over 700 registered beds. There had been some ‘requires improvement’ CQC ratings within the group. The leadership team turned to digital care planning to provide the oversight needed to support positive change across all homes.

Implementation And Results
KareInn was rolled out at a rate of one home per month. Care records and forms were fully digitised before training and go-live. Each home was coached to access Help Centre content and identify Champions to further embed the change.
The group gained oversight of all of their services, enabling them to celebrate the good with their teams and support homes and staff that needed to improve. The leadership team rapidly noticed how, with clear and accurate data, any issues can be addressed and managed proactively.
Following an inspection of one of the first homes to make the transition the CQC noted that: “Credible data was now being gathered from internal audit and quality assurance systems, which meant themes and trends could be identified. This shift to a proactive rather than reactive approach, helped managers and staff to identify potential risks sooner and act to take remedial action.”
Confident that the home had the data and systems in place needed to be a well managed home, capable of delivering safe and effective care the rating was improved to ‘good.’
